Oman's State Council to open its third annual sitting on Tuesday

Muscat: Upon the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the State Council will open its third annual sitting of the sixth term of the Council on Tuesday.
Dr. Khalid bin Salim Al Saeedi, Secretary General of the State Council said that the Council will begin the third annual sitting of the sixth term in implementation of Article 58 repeated 29 of the Basic Law of the State.
He added that the Council will continue its third annual sitting in its efforts to strengthen the rule of law and institutions.
He pointed out that the Council is looking forward to a new annual sitting that is full of giving, culminating in the inauguration of the first and second annual sittings of the current sixth session of the Council, during which many draft laws, studies, proposals and reports have been completed which enhance the development process in the Sultanate and support its Renaissance in various areas.
Dr. Khalid bin Salim Al Saeedi explained that the agenda of the first regular session of the third annual sitting of the sixth term which will be chaired by Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council and in the presence of the honorable members of the Council, includes a number of items: Inaugural Speech by Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council, study of proposals by the Economic Committee which will be discussed in the third annual sitting of the sixth term, including a study on the integration of the standard of living and productivity and the potentials for strengthening the independence of the national economy, discuss the proposals of the Social Committee on the reality of sports clubs and ways to benefit from them to serve the community and the National Project of Oman to reduce child accidents.
He explained that the proposal submitted by the Deputy Chairman on the practice of the psychological counseling profession will also be discussed, as well as some reports submitted by the members on their external participation, some letters received from the concerned authorities and the report of the General Secretariat of the Council.
