Bauer awarded waste management contracts in all PDO concession areas

Muscat: Bauer Nimr, along with Tanmia and Suma Oman, has been awarded the contract to run waste management operations for the North Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates by Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (Be’ah).
Bauer Nimr is the leading domestic and hazardous waste management services provider for the oil and gas industry in Oman. The current long-term flagship waste management project for BP Khazzan has been acknowledged with numerous awards.
Bauer Nimr will take over the waste management and treatment operations for the entire concession area of Oman’s leading national oil and gas operator Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). This covers a total area of approximately 100,000 square kilometres, a little more than a third of the entire Sultanate of Oman.
The award of this contract represents a shift in direction within the Sultanate, away from unsustainable land filling and shipping of waste, towards localised recycling and resource recovery.
In-Country Value will be enhanced by engaging local companies and employees for the forthcoming seven years of operation. As part of the project, state-of-the-art recycling and treatment centres will be established at Bauer Nimr’s existing water treatment facility in Nimr.
