Fans take advantage of round the clock 'Avengers: Endgame' shows

Muscat: Marvel fans in Oman filled cinemas on Friday morning, to take advantage of the 24-hour showing of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame.
Khalid Al Sulaimani, who went to a 12AM screening of the film, told Times of Oman, “The theatre was pretty much full, and a lot of people were excited. It didn’t feel like 3AM at all when we left the cinema.”
Qais Al Lawati, an Omani Marvel fan, has already seen Endgame three times.
“I went for the premiere,” he said, “as well as an afternoon viewing and a late night viewing over the weekend. The premiere was very active, and the audience would react to everything in a good way,” he said.
“The second time was still full, but quiet to the point that I felt that I was the loud one for eating popcorn,” he added. “The third time was a little annoying because a lot of people were making loud noises throughout the whole movie, and one man was playing a mobile game right behind me.”
About why he chose to see the film three times, Al Lawati added, “The big reason was that I promised my family to watch it with them. I also promised my friends to watch it with them as well.
Also, the movie was amazing,” he added. The 4AM viewing on Friday was less occupied, with the theatre almost empty. Salah, a teenager who went to this show, said, “Honestly, the reason we’re here now is that we got AM and PM mixed up,” he said.
“Since there’s almost nobody here, I think we might be a little loud. We’ll try to be quiet and enjoy the movie,” he added, “but maybe we can’t since we have been waiting for this movie for so long.”
Endgame may be one of the first movies in Oman to have 24-hour showings.
A manager at a theatre in Muscat told Times of Oman, “It’s a popular movie but Ramadhan is soon, so the idea is to allow as many people as possible to see it before Ramadhan starts and everybody becomes busy.
“It might be hard work for the employees who start work at 12 PM,” he said, “but if you’re working evenings and the early morning shift then I don’t think it’s too much to handle.”
