Rami Malek to play villain in upcoming James Bond

Muscat: Bohemian Rhapsody and Mr. Robot star Rami Malek is all set to portray the role of the villain in the upcoming James Bond 25.

Reports have confirmed that the Oscar winner has cleared time after his reshoot schedule for the upcoming final season of Mr. Robot to star in Cary Joji Fukunaga’s forthcoming James Bond sequel.

He is set to star opposite veteran James Bond actor Daniel Craig who will reprise his role as Bond for the fifth time. He was last seen as James Bond in Spectre.

Malek will join a cast that includes familiar faces such as Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q, Léa Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann, and Ralph Fiennes as M.

Also returning are Spectre's Rory Kinnear and Jeffrey Wright, who appeared in Quantum of Solace, while newcomers include Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Billy Magnussen (Game Night), Dali Benssalah, Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) and David Dencik (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

The yet untitled Bond 25 will be produced by Eon and is set to release in the United States on April 8, 2020 by Metro Goldwyn Mayer through its United Artists Releasing joint venture with Annapurna, and through Universal and MGM in the U.K. and internationally on April 3, 2020.
