OmanPride: Omani Society for Fine Arts opens second graphic design exhibition

The Omani Society for Fine Arts has opened its second annual exhibition on graphic design, which embodies Omani intellectual heritage identity. The exhibition was recently held at the headquarters of the society under the patronage of Sheikh Sabaa bin Hamdan Al Saadi, secretary general of the High Committee for National Day Celebrations. The event, which is considered a graphic design competition for many designers in Oman, saw 36 participant designers this year and more than 70 designs.
The association aims to create a space for thoughts and ideas in an environment allowing Omani designers to be creative and innovative by showing their ability and skills. The event also aims to give designers an opportunity to communicate with the public and to spread a sense of art in the community and succeed in marketing the work of designers.

The exhibition was divided into four fields: Advertising posters, digital painting, animation, digital calligraphy, and typography. The theme of the exhibition is to embody Omani intellectual heritage and to highlight the Omani identity. Five people, who participated in the competition and won, received their awards.
During the event Maryam Zadjali, president of the Omani Society for Fine Arts, said: “This exhibition was first conducted in 2016 and it was for designers to express their creations and experiences. Graphic design has become the first choice for talented people and art lovers because of its low cost.
“The association has allocated a Judgement Commission to evaluate the designs submitted during the exhibition.”
