Outward Bound Oman celebrates National Outdoor Training Centre opening

Muscat: Outward Bound Oman celebrated the completion of its National Outdoor Training Centre on Sunday.
It will be an activity centre for students of schools and colleges and a field centre for studies and institutions operating in the field of environment.
The celebratory event, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Muscat, was organised under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
Prince Andrew gave a speech in which he spoke on the centre opened at Al Sharqiyah Sands and which will receive students who are interested in acquiring the leadership skills and social communication skills.
His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, honorary chairman of Outward Bound Oman, said that the centre which was opened at Al Sharqiyah Sands was the first of three centres Outward Bound proposes to open in the Sultanate. The other two centres would be opened in Muscat and Jabal Al Akhdar.
Dr. Nasser bin Salim Al Ghanbousi assistant director general of the National Occupational Training Centre at the Ministry of Education said that the centre would polish the skills of students such as time management, communication skills, and crisis management.
On the sidelines of the celebration, an agreement was signed between Outward Bound Oman and Penn State University for designing programmes offered by Outward Bound Oman.
