Oman motoring: Ferrari's 812 Superfast unveiled in Oman

The latest addition in the Ferrari lineup has graced the showroom in Oman and it is simply marvellous. The all-new Ferrari 812 Superfast is the fastest Ferrari in its lineup, hence the name. This macho-monster is all set to push the boundaries of speed and performance to new levels.
The supercar is powered by the new naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, and it achieves its maximum power output at 8,500rpm with a maximum speed of 340Km/h, prancing smoothly from 0 to 100 in just 2.9 seconds.
The 812 Superfast is designed as the flagship V12 Berlinetta as it embodies Ferrari’s revered V12 heritage that came to existence in 1947, delivering the legendary monsters of the F12 Berlinetta and F12 TDF.
The V12 supercar is the first Ferrari to sport EPS (Electric Power Steering) which, in line with Ferrari tradition, is used to fully exploit the potential of the car’s performance by integrating it with all of its electronic vehicle dynamics controls. And, its aerodynamic design is improved in performance, which is what Ferrari is all about; continuing to elevate its cars to newer territories of technology and mechanics, giving us a more exhilarating driving experience.
“We are exhilarated to welcome the latest product from the Maranello stable; the 812 Superfast, to Oman. As the fastest and most powerful Ferrari model ever created, it embodies a level of driving capabilities never seen before. We are proud to showcase a product of such ground-breaking technology and design excellence and are confident that the 812 Superfast will meet the needs of the Omani Ferrari connoisseur; all those passionate about beauty, exhilaration and performance,” said Mohamed El Zawawy, Assistant General Manager at Alfardan Motors during the launch of the brand new Ferrari 812 Superfast.
The new ride is designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, and it redefines the formal language of front-engine V12 Ferraris’ proportions without changing either its exterior dimensions or interior space and comfort. As you’d see in its silhouette, it embodies a sleek look and a character of an aggressive, monstrous supercar.
The car has a two-box design with a high tail reminiscent of the glorious 365 GTB4 (Daytona) of 1969, visually lowering an aggressive rear spoiler designed to guarantee down-force. The cabin has been radically redesigned to imbue the model with an even sportier character.
Light and compact volumes hug the contours of the interior structures to the extent that the latter are visible in certain areas. These ultra-taut surfaces are deliberately layered and broken up to create voids with the result that the main elements seem to float.
The overall effect is both thoroughbred racing eagerness and lean elegance that never feels overstated.
