Oman Cricket: Zubair CT, Fahad Express and Mehul record facile victories

Muscat: Zubair CT put their campaign back on track with a facile four-wicket win against Al Fairuz CT in a D Division game at Muscat Municipality Ground II.
Batting first after winning the toss, Al Fairuz scored a fighting 149 all out in 19.4 overs with Ranjith Kumar topscoring with 29 off 24 balls. SaithamHussain (26) and Saravanan Manickam (23) also chipped in with useful little knocks. Iqbal Mudassar led the bowling honours with three for 23. He was ably support by Parthiban Mohan (2 for 22) and Adnan Mahboob (2 for 31).
Zubair CT were guilty of conceding 23 extras, including 15 wides and two no-balls.
Mayalakkara’s strokeful 54, supported by Balachandran Ramachandran (33) and Adnan Mahboob (28), made sure Zubair CT reached their target with ease, compiling 150 for six in 15.4 overs. Gopukumar claimed two for 31.

OCT Mabellah beaten
Fahad Express rode on sterling all-round performances from Vijayakumaran Nair and Sooraj A Raj to beat OCT Al Mabellah by eight wickets in an E Division match at Muscat Municipality Ground III in Al Amerat.
OCT Mabellah were restricted to 133 for seven in 20 overs, Zafarullah Al Balushi tops-coring with 39 off 35 balls. Shareef Al Balushi (34) and Shabir Al Balushi (25) batted well too. Sooraj A Raj bagged three wickets for 27 while Vijayakumaran Nair took two for 14.
Openers Vijayakumaran (60 off 33 balls) and Sooraj A Raj (30 off 25 balls) were involved in a match-winning partnership of 78. Rajan Nair looked good in his brief knock of 29 off 15 balls as Fahad Express surpassed the total, scoring 134 for two in 12.3 overs. Asif Al Balushi and Shabir Al Balushi claimed one wicket each.

Salih Valappil’s brave 71 failed to save Al Rehwan as Mehul Enterprises raced to an eight-wicket victory in just 9.2 overs in their E Division encounter at Muscat Municipality Ground II.
Al Rehwan could not capitalise on batting first on a bright sunny morning and were skittled out for just 90 in 13.4 overs. Valappil was the only batsman to score in double figure. Sachin Mamnani, Imran Khan and Sagar Trantukar all took two wickets each.
Opener Shameel Mohammed’s fluent 54 off 31 balls saw Mehul Enterprises home in just 9.2 overs. Javed Mohammed chipped in with a useful 31 off 23 balls.

Global United edged FHD Crazy Challengers by five wickets in a last-over thrilling finish in an H Division game at OAC Ground III in Seeb.
After restricting Challengers to 142 for eight in 19.4 overs, United secured victory by reaching 144 for five in 19.4 overs.
