Mount Agung volcano: Oman Embassy asks citizens to exercise caution

Bali: Oman embassy in Indonesia has advised citizens to stay away from the volcano hit Island of Bali.

Mount Agung on Indonesia's resort island of Bali has erupted again, spewing volcanic ash into the sky to a height of two kilometres, an official said.

In a statement issued on Monday, the embassy said: “A statement issued by the Indonesian Meteorological and Climatic Commission that Mount Agung erupted on the island of Bali on Sunday, April 21, 2019, and we call upon all tourists to stay away from the volcano area."

The active volcano erupted at 3.21am on Sunday and the thick ash column was blown to the southwest, causing a drizzle of volcanic ash in Karangasem, Bangli and Klunglung districts, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, a spokesman for the national disaster mitigation agency, told reporters.
