ROP seizes five boats attempting to smuggle diesel

Muscat: Seven expats were arrested on charges of smuggling diesel in Musandam, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on Sunday, April 21.

A ROP source said, "The boats tried to escape but were caught with seven Asian nationals on board, additionally, containers filled with diesel were found. The boats were towed to the Musandam Coast Guard police station."

In another case, the Dibba Coast Guard police provided assistance to an Omani fishing boat whose engine failed near Al-Shara area in Wilayat Dibba.

The boat was carrying 'two citizens,' who are both in good health. The boat was towed to the Dibba port.
