55 expatriates embrace Islam in Oman

Muscat: Fifty-five people of different nationalities embraced Islam during August 2017, the Iftaa Office, represented by the Islam Promotion and Cultural Exchange Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said.
In terms of nationalities, the Philippines came first with 20 women, followed by Ugandans with 13 women, Indians (two men and four women), Sri Lankans (four women), Bangladeshi (two men and a woman), besides two men and seven women from different nationalities.
This is part of the efforts made by the department to promote Islam, disseminate Islamic culture and raise awareness of Islam among non-Muslim communities.
