Equestrian: Oman qualify for Tent Pegging World Cup

Muscat: Hosts Oman, along with Yemen and Jordan, qualified for the Tent Pegging World Cup after finishing overall second in the qualifying event for the global championships in Salalah.
After the final day of the action, Yemen emerged the winners of the qualifying event with 532 points while Oman finished second with 498.5 points. Jordan took the third place and the final qualifying spot with 399.5 points.
As in the first two days of the competition, on the concluding day too Yemen were on top in all three competitions - lemon and pegs, rings and Indian file. Oman were second and Jordan third.
A total of five teams took part in the event with Qatar and Great Britain being the other two teams, who finished with 377 and 339 points respectively.
Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, presided over the concluding ceremony and handed over the trophies in the presence of Oman Equestrian Federation chief Sayyid Mundhir bin Saif Al Busaidi and International Tent Pegging Federation chief Mohammed bin Isa Al Fairouz.
Oman Equestrian Federation organised the event as part of Salalah Tourism Festival in co-operation with Dhofar Municipality and with the support of the office of the Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.
