Muscat: The Pakistani community in Oman kicked off their country's 70th independence day celebrations with events being organised in Al Buraimi and Al Suwaiq involving the Pakistan embassy, on August 4th and 7th.
Mr. Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, addressed a gathering in Suwaiq on Tuesday, August 8th, and thanked the community for taking part in outreach initiatives that the embassy implemented in Oman.
The ambassador also announced the 'Young Pakistan Forum Oman', an initiative to hone youth into leadership roles and serve as a bridge between Pakistan and Oman. The initiative will be officially launched on Pakistan's Independence Day, on August 14th.
In Al-Burami, embassy spokesperson Ms. Ramallah spoke to the gathering and appreciated their efforts to develop the community, especially through the establishment of a school in Al-Burami School last year.
