Tender for second phase of Salut Fort Archaeological Park awarded

Muscat: The Office of the Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Cultural Affairs has awarded a tender for the second stage of the development and rehabilitation of the Salut Fort Archaeological Park in the Wilayat of Bahla in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah.
The firm will undertake construction of the hall with a total area of 2,343 square metres. During this stage, the Office will implement internal corridors and equip the traditional farm components of the archaeological park.
This stage is part of an integrated action plan for the development of the site after the completion of the first stage, which included the construction of the fence and the park gate in implementation of the Royal Decree No. 8/2016 for the project of Salut Fort Archaeological Park.
The site was listed on the preliminary list of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in preparation for future inclusion in the UNESCO List of World Heritage sites.
