Muscat: Al Turki secured an exciting 4-wicket victory on Saturday morning against Enhance which inflicted a comfortable 7-wicket win over Muscat CT later in the day at Oman Cricket’s grassy ground one in Amerat.
Batting first, Enhance failed to post a challenging total on the board, scoring a lowly 126 for 8 in 20 overs. Captain Wasim Ali top scored with an unbeaten 64. Ajay Lalcheta was the pick of Al Turki bowlers, taking 3 for 17 while promising left-arm spinner Adnanul Haq claimed 2 for 10.
Al Turki was happily placed at 81 for 2 in the 13th over before a middle-order collapse saw it reeling at 100 for 6 15 overs. However, Kuldeep Salve held his nerves to steer his side through to victory in the final over as Al Turki scored 128 for 6. Twinkle Bhandari contributed useful 30. Flourry Mathunny George claimed three wickets while Zeeshan Tufail took two.
Mehran helps Enhance to victory
Hard-hitting batsman Mehran Khan struck a sizzling 46 not out including 5 towering sixes while Flourry Mathunny George bagged 3 for 19 in an easy 7-wicket victory against Muscat.
Flourry and Obaidullah (2 for 14) bowled splendidly well to restrict Muscat to 117 for 8 in 20 overs. Ayaan Khan was the main scorer with 36 off 32.
Enhance raced to the small target in just 15 overs, scoring 118 for 3 thanks to Mehran’s belligerent batting. Opener Jehanzeb Asghar Ali provided the momentum by striking 27 runs off only 8 balls while Nester Dhamba remained unbeaten at 20.
Assarain beats Al Turki
Earlier, on Friday Assarain managed to score a fighting 4-wicket win over Al Turki NMC thanks to a match-winning spell of 4 for 28 by VS Shiju and 38 not out by Shakeel Ahmad at the same venue.
Superb bowling by Shiju and Rana Naeem (3 for 17) was the major reason Al Turki getting dismissed for 125 in 18 overs. Yogesh Patel and Viren Patel both scored 37 each.
Assarain did not start off well, losing two wickets for 15 runs and then slumping to 71 for 6 in the 15th over. However, a 67-run unbroken partnership between Shakeel and Rana saw Assarain to victory in 19 overs.
