And now their watch has ended - Game of Thrones Season 8 airs tonight

Muscat: Fans of Game of Thrones in Oman are extremely excited to see the final season air, after waiting for more than a year for the smash hit show to arrive on screens.

The first episode of Season 8, which will have six elongated episodes instead of the standard 10, airs in the US tonight, and fans can catch it in Oman as well.

“You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this,” said one GOT fan Times of Oman spoke to. “When was the last time I watched Game of Thrones? It was in 2018, I think. It feels like it has already been so long, and I cannot control my excitement that the last season – hopefully – is finally airing tonight.

She added: “Since the timings are going to be a bit difficult to follow, although I feel embarrassed mentioning this, but my friends and I have made arrangements to watch it together late on Monday evening, but I have a feeling I won’t be able to contain myself and will probably look for the reviews online before I watch it, and will still feel the same amount of excitement.” “I don’t know why, but I am getting a feeling it could be Sansa Stark on the Iron Throne.”

Another fan said he and his wife would watch it after work tomorrow, adding: “We are definitely super excited for Game of Thrones to come. We shall sit at home, relax, and watch it with no troubles tomorrow evening. It should be a great season. I know it sounds odd, but I think Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen will end up on the Iron Throne together.”

In the build-up to the final season, show owners HBO have released a series of interviews with the Game of Thrones cast, titled ‘The Cast Remembers’. The series provides a brilliant insight into how the cast actually felt about the show, and how it has changed some of them forever.
