Operations carried out over holidays to rescue Omanis

Muscat: Omani citizens were saved in three different rescue operations over the long weekend, all carried out by the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA).
On April 3, the PACDA in Muscat responded to a report of a citizen drowning in the waters of Al Seeb beach.
“The water rescue team managed to locate the individual and handed him over to the ambulance crew who in turn performed heart and lung resuscitation,” PACDA said. The man was taken to hospital and is in a critical condition.

The next day, on April 4, the rescue authorities in Al Dhahira responded to a report of three citizens who were stranded on a mountain in Wilayat Ibri.
“Due to the difficulty in reaching the location, a police helicopter was used to assist in the operations,” PACDA said, “They were all rescued and are in good health.”
On April 5, the department of civil defence and ambulance in Muscat responded to another report by citizens in Wilayat Al Amerat of a person who fell while mountain climbing.
“In cooperation with the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the citizen was rescued and provided with emergency medical care before being transported to the hospital with moderate injuries,” added the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance.
