Cricket: Ton-up Obuya lifts Kenya to win over Oman

Muscat: Collins Obuya scored an unbeaten century to steer Kenya XI to a three-wicket victory over Oman in a friendly 50-over match in Nairobi on Sunday.
Duleep Mendis-coached Oman, who are touring Kenya as part of their preparations for the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 competition in Uganda, batted first and scored 233 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs.
For Oman, Zeeshan Maqsood contributed 82 runs while Amir Ali remained unbeaten on 42. The other contributions came from Khawar Ali (35) and Nester Dhamba (32).
In reply, Kenya XI struggled initially but Collins Obuya who smashed an unbeaten 111 ensured the hosts the clinched the thrilling match with three wickets to spare.
Oman will play another friendly match against Kenya Select team on Monday.
The Sultanate squad are also scheduled to play practice matches against Malaysia and Kenya XI on May 17 and 18 respectively.
On May 19, Oman team will leave Kenya for Uganda, where the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 competition will take place from May 23 to 30.
