Jobs pledge by Oman’s Transport Minister

Muscat: Thousands of jobs will be provided to job seekers under Oman’s long-term public transportation strategy.

“5354 indirect jobs will be provided, in issues like logistics and infrastructure and a total of 1530 direct jobs will be provided, from drivers to maintenance and engineers,” Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications said, while unveiling Oman's new transport plan on Wednesday.

This public transport strategy comes after the approval of the Council of Ministers, who green lighted the first and second phases of the plan, which is to be implemented from 2017 to 2025.
