State Council chairman receives Belarus foreign affairs minister

Muscat: Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council received in his Office yesterday Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and his accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit to the Sultanate.
Dr. Mantheri pointed out that the visit affirms the two states’ keenness to constantly develop the existing relations. He hailed the level of bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the friendly Republic of Belarus in all fields, especially in parliamentary relations.
He also hailed the role played by the Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the State Council and Belarus National Assembly. He affirmed that the State Council will always support the efforts made to enhance bilateral relations. He made reference to the MoU signed between the two countries in tourism fields and the need to expedite signing more cooperation memorandum in other fields.
Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus expressed his happiness to visit the Sultanate and thanked the hospitality extended to him and his accompanying delegation.
He added that there are many things in common between the two countries which may be used in enhancing existing relations. He expressed his admiration of the progress made by the Sultanate in all fields.
The meeting was attended by chairman and members of the Omani Belarus Parliament Friendship Committee, the Secretary General of the State Council and the Belarus non-resident accredited Ambassador to the Sultanate.
