Shura members submit proposal to build sports complex in Oman

Muscat: Majlis Al Shura members yesterday submitted proposals to the sports minister for establishing a huge sports complex for hosting international competitions. They invited the private sector to support Omani sports.
During the 11th regular session of the second annual sitting (2016-2017) of the eighth term (2015/2019) under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma'awali , Chairman of Majlis Al Shura, members continued debating the statement of Sheikh Sa'ad bin Mohammed Al Mardof Al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs.
For the second successive day, the members presented their queries on the sports minister's statement which addressed a number of topics, including the Omani sport strategy, its foundations, achievements, facilities, legislative laws that govern the sports sector, the sports of people with disabilities, the achievements made, the subsidy provided by the ministry to private sports teams, the youth programmes at the sports club and the projects of the ministry.
