Oman Tennis: Fatma Al Nabhani to participate in ITF tournament in India

Muscat: Omani star Fatma Al Nabhani will take part in the $15,000 ITF Women’s Circuit tournament in India.

The tournament will be played in Gwalior, a city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, till March 5.

Fatma, who has been given the top seeding in the singles, is scheduled to launch her campaign against local wild card Prakriti Banwani on Tuesday.

The Omani lass is taking part in the event to earn points with an aim to improve her ranking.

Since the beginning of 2017, Fatma has taken part in two back-to-back $15,000 ITF tournaments in Cairo and a Premier 700 tournament in Qatar.

Though she exited the Qatar event, held in early this month, in the early rounds of both singles and doubles, Fatma did well in the two Cairo tournaments in January.

In the first tournaments, she won the second place both in the singles and doubles and in the second, she finished runner-up in the doubles competition.
