Two Omani organisations bag GCC Housing Award 2020
The GCC Housing Award aims to encourage private sector and non-profit organisations to excel in the field of housing projects

Muscat: The secretariat general of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council felicitated two Omani establishments, Al Jisr Charity Association and Golden Group Holding (GGH), both of which won the GCC Housing Award 2020.

The GCC Housing Award aims to encourage private sector and non-profit organisations to excel in the field of housing projects. The prize was presented to representatives of the two establishments by Dr Khalfan Said al-Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.

Al Jisr Foundation bagged the GCC award for implementing the Housing Assistance Project of “Manzili-Ma’waay”. Al Jisr constructed, restored and maintained many homes housing financially disadvantaged families from among recipients of Zakat in the Sultanate. The association acted from its social awareness role, which was realized through the implementation of 50 housing projects on an annual basis since 2010 and assisted more than 400 families.

As for Golden Group Holding, it was felicitated for implementing seven social housing projects for orphans in the Governorate of Dhofar. The GGH promotes social collaboration and cooperation among individuals of society. The beneficiaries of the project received their housing units in July 2010 in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
