Refunds clawed back by consumer watchdogs in Oman

Muscat: More than OMR 27,000 was retrieved by the Department of Consumer Protection in Sur during January for consumers.
The complaints ranged from violating consumer rights and delays in service to failing to commit to product warranties and selling faulty goods which resulted in the retrieval of OMR 27,408 for the consumers.
The majority of the complaints were against car dealerships and their services where the total amount retrieved from that sector was OMR 19,138 while car repair workshops coughed up OMR 357.
