Award ceremony for Football Academy League winners held

Muscat:: The winners of Oman’s Football Academy League received their trophies at the National Obstacle Series that took place at Muscat Hills Golf Club on Saturday amid a huge gathering.
The Academy League, managed by Sabco Sports in collaboration with Al Jarwani Group, was played at the OFA Seeb Sports Complex from December 2018 and concluded this month. The event saw the participation of 20 of Muscat’s academies in the age groups of under 9, under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 17.
Nic Cartwright, Managing Director of Sabco Sports, praised the teams taking part. He said, “We know how important it is to have a good structure for the talented players to improve, and some of the clubs taking part really excelled in our tournament this year.
It was a good first year, though we expect to grow considerably in year 2 (which will start in October 2019)”.
Chuck Martini, of Muscat Football Academy and Al Jarwani Group thanked the club’s coaches and parents for helping make the tournament a success; “Without their support, it is difficult to achieve the success that we are working towards. I can’t wait to see the new season start.”
