Australian Cartoonist pays tribute to Christchurch victims

Muscat: Award-winning Australian cartoonist Pat Campbell has paid tribute to the victims of the recent Christchurch terror attacks, which left 50 people dead in New Zealand.

The image depicts New Zealand's iconic silver fern redrawn with Muslims in different positions of prayer. A total of 50 men, women and children can be seen on the fern.

The attacks unfolded on Friday when a gunman espousing white supremacist ideology targeted two mosques in the city of Christchurch. In addition to the 50 fatalities, another 50 were injured in the attack, one of the deadliest in the history of New Zealand.

Campbell won the 2013 Walkley Award For Art. He has also received multiple Australian Cartoonist Association Awards (Stanleys).
