Muscat: Four Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights were diverted to Muscat International Airport on Thursday morning due to heavy fog at Pakistan airports.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesperson Danyal Gilani said four flights from Pakistan were diverted to Muscat. “PIA’s schedule affected due to fog at the airports. Four flights diverted to Muscat this morning,” Gilani tweeted.

The flights diverted to Muscat include Dubai to Karachi, Jeddah to Karachi, Abu Dhabi to Islamabad and London to Karachi. “But all these flights left Muscat International Airport on Thursday morning when the fog situation improved in Pakistan,” according to a senior PIA official in Muscat.

According to the PIA met office the visibility is reduced to 100 meters in different parts of the Pakistan today due to heavy fog which forced the flights to be diverted to Muscat.

Last week also, a PIA flight was also diverted to Muscat as visibility at all airports near Karachi was poor.
