Oman Property: Five reasons to love South Al Hail

South Al Hail is the crowded sisterhood of North Al Hail, minus the beach and large villas, located on the south side of Sultan Qaboos Highway between South Al Mawaleh and Al Khoudh, about 15 kilometres from the airport. This ‘hood is not as pretty as its sister-by-the-beach, but as it’s mostly occupied by local Omanis, it has a strong sense of community, as well as rows of well established villas and shops that are relatively affordable, with villa rental prices averaging around OMR600.

As with most parts of Seeb, Al Hail South has all the necessary services, from banks and hypermarkets to schools and clinics to restaurants and boutiques, close at hand. Many offices and other commercial spaces are in the area as well. Nearby places of interest include Markaz Al Bahja Mall, Al Hail Corniche, Muscat City Centre, Paintball Oman, the largest mixed Horizon gym in Oman, Holiday Inn Muscat, Seeb Souq, Al Khoudh souq, and the Almouj integrated community.

1. No party zone
South Al Hail doesn’t have much entertainment for youngsters, which makes it the perfect ‘hood for those looking for a quiet lifestyle, with less car noises and after-midnight gatherings.

2. Affordable Rates
Al Hail is affordable for buyers in comparison to other wilayats in Muscat, and for this reason it's mostly occupied by locals. Villas might be a bit expensive to rent, but apartments are offered for as low as OMR250.

3. Easy to Find
This neighbourhood is one of the easiest to navigate, making directing people to your home much easier than it would be in Bousher or Qurum. Being positioned on the side of Sultan Qaboos Highway helps too.

4. Family Friendly
As with most of Seeb's suburban areas, South Al Hail is super safe, and has a true sense of community. It mostly attracts families and married couples, which makes it a great place to start or raise a family.

5. Mostly Residential
The area is mainly a suburb, with a mix of old and new villas, as well as serviced apartments. The only commercial side of South Al Hail is the service road just off of Sultan Qaboos highway.
