Top honour for Royal Cavalry

Muscat: Royal Cavalry won the first His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for its outstanding contribution to Arabian horse racing and especially Dubai International Arabian Racing (DIAR) series and its festivities in Newbury racecourse last August.
This award was constituted for the first time and was given under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the patron of DIAR and British Arabian Racing Association. The award recognises each year a prominent character or organisation which plays a crucial role in supporting Arabian horse racing activities and events around the world. The Award was received by Captain Salim Humood Al Hakmani, racing section officer at Royal Cavalry, a party held at Jumaira Carlton Tower Hotel’s garden in London.
“The Royal Cavalry is enlightened by wise thinking and direction from His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said (may God protect him) and the winning of this coveted prize is an evidence of the efforts exerted by the Royal Cavalry and its outstanding contribution to the Arabian horse racing around the world. And we are pressing ahead to show up Oman’s devotion and care of Arabian horse racing. We thank those who support us especially His Excellency Nasser Humood Al kindi, secretary-general of Royal Court Affairs,” said Biragdier-general Abdulrazak Alshahwarzi.
