Top experts to share their vision at Condé Nast International Luxury Conference in Oman

Muscat: Oman will host the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference next year, where eminent speakers such as Elie Saab, Pierre Denis from Jimmy Choo, and Giambattista Valli are expected to share their market experiences. The conference will include a formal on-stage programme including talks, keynote addresses, and interviews with creative and business speakers, as well as social events of the highest calibre, enabling attendees to make the most of their time. To be held on April 5 and 6, 2017 at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, the event will also include three speakers from Oman: Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Amal Al Raisi, a prominent fashion designer, and David Crickmore, chief executive of Amouage, the Oman-based luxury fragrance company. Launched in 2015 in Florence, the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference is a unique event from the most influential multimedia company in the world. It draws on the collective influence of Condé Nast International’s publications, and the vision and knowledge of Suzy Menkes, the world’s most renowned fashion journalist and international Vogue editor. The conference, believed to be the most significant event for the luxury and fashion industries, is expected to attract 500 top-level attendees from more than 30 countries, and will bring together decision-makers, influencers, and innovators from both the business and the creative sides. Attendees can expect two days of story-telling, experience-sharing, and contact and network-building, that only a premium live event can provide. The conference was held last year in South Korea, and the year before that in France. The programme will explore how new wealth and untapped markets are the next great source of growth for the luxury industry in the 21st century. Speakers will include international business and creative leaders, as well as luxury observers and disruptors. Themes of the 2017 Luxury Conference include new markets for the luxury industry and targeting bright spots of wealth and growth; reigniting consumer desire; luxury for the “post-luxury” world; and the evolution of global trade routes. Place Vendôme Qatar and Oman Air are the co-lead partners for the conference, along with host partner Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront. “The Condé Nast International Luxury Conference 2017 will explore the vast reach of 21st century luxury. Oman stands at the nexus of this global trade, offering a unique perspective that encompasses India to the Far East, Europe to Arabia,” Menkes, the curator of the conference, commented. Maha Al Lamki, Oman’s representative at the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference, and also the owner and founder of MCO Group of Companies, said, “Personally, it is a privilege to be involved with the CNI luxury conference next year, and it is an immense opportunity for the Sultanate of Oman to showcase its vast heritage and culture. It is a global exposure that Oman will witness in 2017.With this conference, the country will charm and attract people from all over the world.”
