Muscat: Almost 200 expatriate workers were arrested this month in Al Buraimi for violating the Labour Law, the Ministry of Manpower reported.
In a press release, the ministry said it arrested 193 labourers.
“Most of the violations (92) were recorded in the commercial licenses,” the ministry said.
Out of the arrested, 86 were found to be absconding workers and 28 were fired from their jobs.
During October, 79 expatriates in Al Buraimi were deported, 55 were working in commercial jobs, 13 in private jobs and 11 in the agricultural field.
