“The Order will be conferred on the recipients by Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minster of Japan, in person at the award ceremony to be held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo shortly, and (Dr. Ali bin Masoud bin Ali Al Sunaidy) will be given an audience by the Emperor of Japan,” the Japanese embassy added.
The Order of the Rising Sun was established in 1875.
The Order was the first national decoration awarded by the government of Japan featuring the rays of sunlight from the Rising Sun.
It is one of the most prestigious Japanese decorations and has been conferred on non-Japanese recipients since 1981.
