Oman's Shura committees hold meetings

Muscat: Health and Environment Committee of Majlis Al Shura yesterday held its 2nd regular meeting between the 1st and 2nd annual sittings of the 8th term under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura.
The Committee discussed its work plan for the 2nd annual sitting (2016 – 2017) of the 8th term (2015 – 2019).
Further, the committee presented several topics relevant to its prerogatives to study and discuss them during the 2nd annual sitting that include studying the draft patients’ rights and safety law.
Food and Water Security Committee at Majlis Al Shura also held its 1st regular meeting between the 1st and 2nd annual sittings of the 8th term under the chair of Hilal bin Said Al Yahya’ee, Head of the Committee.
The committee approved its work plan, as well as its executive programme for the 2nd annual sitting (2016 – 2017) of the 8th term (2015 – 2019).
Members of the committee viewed its work plan on studying two topics referred by the Majlis Office that include legalisation of green feed export abroad and Jabal Shams development.
Additionally, Media and Culture Committee at Majlis Al Shura also held its 3rd regular meeting between the 1st and 2nd annual sittings (2015 – 2016) of the 8th term under the chair of Mohammed bin Musallam bin Rab’ie Hubais, Deputy Head of the Committee.
Cultural heritage
The Committee’s members addressed some prohibitions that harm the Omani cultural heritage and conflict with teachings of the Islamic religion and the Omani customs and values.
