Muscat: Police arrested 17 Asian expatriates in Al Ghubra on charges of gambling.
A source at Royal Oman Police (ROP) said that officials received information about the workers.
Later, the officers allegedly caught the violators red-handed and found illegal cigarettes in their possession.
ROP also found that some of them were violating the labour and residential laws.
Police also arrested two Asian nationals and an African for committing different crimes, including house robbery, fraud and car theft.
