Indian Cultural Foundation in Oman extends help to deceased KFC driver’s family

Muscat: A few good Samaritans have extended help to the family of Sainul Abdhin, a KFC driver, who was killed with four others, including two police officers, in a road accident on July 31 at the SQU Street in Al Khoudh, Muscat.
Members of the Indian Cultural Foundation (ICF) have deposited INR200,000 (approximately OMR1,200) to help fund the education of Abdhin’s daughters.
“We read in the Times of Oman that Sainul was the sole breadwinner for his family and his untimely death has left them stranded. So, we thought of supporting them within our limits. We have deposited the money for his children’s education,” Nizar Saqafi, ICF’s general secretary, told the Times of Oman.
On August 10, the Times of Oman had reported the Abdhin family’s struggle in a story entitled, “Family of deceased KFC driver struggling to make ends meet.
Quoting Abdhin’s relative, Mohammed Nissar, the Times of Oman had reported the uncertainty surrounding Abdhin’s daughters’ education.
His 12 years old daughter Shifa Sherin and nine years old Aneena Sainul resume going to school, however, they are not sure as to how much longer they could continue their studies.
According to the police, Abdhin and four others died in the road accident after being hit by a car driven by an allegedly drunk driver.
Abdhin is survived by an unemployed wife, an aged father and mother struggling with age-related illness.
He had built a house by taking a loan from the bank and repayments for the same are also pending. Currently, relatives and neighbours are supporting the family.
