Oman becomes non-Test playing full member of Asian Cricket Council

Muscat: Oman Cricket has been upgraded as a non-Test playing full member of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), according to information provided by Oman Cricket here on Sunday.
A decision to this effect was taken during the 2016 ACC General Assembly, which is being organised in the Asian cricket body’s new headquarters in Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.
The Oman Cricket also informed that the Sultanate has also made it to the ACC Executive Board for a period of two years.
Oman Cricket’s General Secretary Madhu Jesrani, Treasurer Kiran Asher and Chief Development Officer Duleep Mendis, the Sri Lankan who is also the coach of the Oman national team, are representing the Sultanate at the ACC General Assembly.
During the General Assembly, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Shahryar Khan was elected as the ACC chairman while the new ACC Head Quarters was officially inaugurated in the presence of Sri Lanka Cricket chief Thilanga Sumathipala and Minister of Sport Dayasiri Jayasekara.
