Clean-up drive rids Oman coast of plastic trash

Muscat: Hundreds of volunteers rid Masirah island of the plastic bottles that landed on its shores after a vessel sank nearby. Environmentalists had been gathering for a massive clean-up on the Omani island since Thursday morning.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs (MECA) confirmed the small ship was not carrying any hazardous materials.
The Environment Society of Oman (ESO) called via their twitter for an urgent cleanup campaign which started on Thursday morning and ended Saturday to pick up the plastic trash.
