Oman weather: Thunderstorms predicted in different parts of the Sultanate

Muscat: Thunderstorms will hit different parts of the country on Thursday, according to the Oman Meteorology department.
In its recent advisory notice, places like Buraimi, Rustaq, Ibra, Samail, Bahla, Ibri, Nizwa, Mudhebi, Sunaynah, Saiq, Bidiya, Yanqual, Bidbid, Al Mazyunh, Jabal_Shams, Al Hamra and Izki may have thunderstorms on Thursday.
“There can be isolated thunderstorms or rain in different parts of Oman but it won’t reach Muscat,” Jason Nicholls, a senior meteorologist at Accuweather.com, said.
The weather forecast for Thursday says the skies will be cloudy over the Dhofar Governorate and adjoining mountains.
It also predicts intermittent showers and fog formation over the Dhofar region.
Forecast further expects the skies will be clear over the rest of the Sultanate with chance of late night to early morning low level clouds along most of the coastal areas Oman.
Oman Meteorology department also predicts there is chances for convective clouds development with isolated rain occasionally thundershowers over Al-Hajar Mountains and adjacent willayats.
