A’soud Global School Muscat set to open doors in September

Muscat: The English Education Management Company (EEMC) has announced the opening of its first school in the Sultanate of Oman.
The A’soud Global School (AGS) Muscat will open in September 2016, admitting pupils from pre-kindergarten (KG) to Grade 6 and in the successive years will grow to an Upper Prep and Senior School preparing pupils for iGCSE’s and A-Levels. Andrew Hurst, principal, AGS Muscat, expressed his enthusiasm about the opening and highlighted that the school will nurture excellence while conserving culture and tradition in line with all Al Najah schools in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
He said, “AGS Muscat will offer its pupils a vibrant and challenging learning environment, with a distinctive British independent school style, that reflects the values and dynamic culture of the Sultanate of Oman. With a team of highly experienced British, International and Arabic teaching and support staff, the school will develop independent and enquiring minds, aiming to turn out young men and women, with the capability of achieving their aspirations—both academically and morally. This will ultimately enable our pupils to respond to the rapidly changing world in which they will pursue further study and work.”
Located next to the Seeb Souqina purpose-built campus, AGS Muscat will educate pupils aged three to 18 years within state-of-the-art facilities, including spacious and stimulating classrooms, outdoor multi-games courts, swimming and splash pools, a football pitch, an indoor multi-purpose sports hall, a library, ICT room, music room, art and drama room and laboratories.
EEMC is a joint venture between the Muscat Overseas Group and the Al Najah Education LLC to invest into and manage education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman. AGS Muscat is the second venture of EEMC after the Horizon Kids International Nursery located in Al Mouj, Muscat. Al Najah Education provides the academic know-how and operational services for both these institutions.
Continued support
Shailesh Dash, chairman of Al Najah Education, said, “We are grateful to the Ministry of Education, Sultanate of Oman for this opportunity and look forward to their continued support in our future endeavours. With the launch of AGS Muscat, Al Najah Education is taking a significant step towards integrating horizontally and vertically within the MENASEA education space.”
Himansu Mohapatra, general manager, Al Tamman Holding (a Muscat Overseas Group company) commented, “With the success of Horizon Kids International Nursery, we are determined to continue our quest, through AGS Muscat and the new school opening in Duqm in September 2018, to impart holistic education to nationals and expatriates in Oman.”
Al Tamman Holding is part of the Muscat Overseas Group, focussing on social infrastructure development and lifestyle projects.
Meanwhile, Al Najah Education LLC is a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based investment company, managed by Al Masah Capital Limited, which invests and manages education assets throughout the MENA and South East Asia (SEA) region. Al Najah Education currently owns 26 institutions in four cities across three countries in the MENASEA region—the UAE, Oman and Singapore.
