Muscat: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Sultanate of Oman has donated 51 books, introducing Korea's culture, heritage and history, to the Sultan Qaboos University's library.

Ambassador Choe Jonghyun called on Dr Hamed bin Suleiman Al Salmi, deputy vice-chancellor for administration and finance of Sultan Qaboos University and delivered the said books last week.

Foundation's programme

The Sultan Qaboos University has been selected as one of universities to benefit from the Korea Foundation's programme under which the Foundation provides Korea-related materials to foreign universities.

The Foundation is an independent organisation affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, and aims to promote academic and cultural exchanges with other countries.

The embassy hopes that the donated books will help faculty members and students of Sultan Qaboos University better understand the culture, heritage and history of the Republic of Korea.
