Muscat: As part of its awareness campaign, the Entrepreneurship Award organised on Wednesday its second workshop at the College of Technology in Ibra in the Governorate of North A’Sharqiya.

The workshop was attended by a number of owners of micro, small, and medium enterprises from the governorate.

The discussions were led by Abdullah Al Jufaili and Mohammed Al Harrasi, members of the Award’s organising committee. They shed light on the award’s categories, criteria, and registration process. In addition, the presenters explained the timeline of the award which included the duration of the awareness campaign, registration, and evaluation, apart from the final selection and closing ceremony, during which the winners would be announced.

“The award aims to empower small, medium, and micro enterprises to effectively contribute to the creation of jobs for Omani youth and establishment of a diverse economy based on knowledge and innovation. It seeks to promote the entrepreneurship culture in the Omani society and develop the performance and competitiveness of the SMEs,” said Al Jufaili.

In their interactive approach with the audience, Al Jufaili and Al Harrasi started answering the questions of the attendees and explained to them the application process done through the award’s website www.theaward.om. They also explained the awards for each category and the value they add to the winners.

The awareness campaign will continue touring the Sultanate and will hold its next workshop in the Governorate of North Al Batinah in the wilayat of Sohar. It aims to expand the reach of the award and provide more in-depth information for potential participants and answer their questions.
