Muscat: In continuation of the wise approach outlined by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said since the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance, His Majesty the Sultan, by Allah's will, will begin the Royal Meet-the-People tour inside the Sultanate and tour the Omani cities, towns and villages.
This was stated in a statement by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court.
He said that the Meet-the-People tour comes as part of the continuing efforts of His Majesty the Sultan to identify the citizens' needs and requirements in terms of services, as well as listening to their observations and proposals about developing such services and enhancing the role played by the government departments in delivering these services to different parts of the Sultanate, within the framework of the sustainable and comprehensive development plans.
Sayyid Al Busaidi pointed out that in response to the Royal Directives of His Majesty, a symposium on the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be held at Seih Al Shamikhat in the Wilayat of Bahla. The symposium will shed light on the importance of assisting these enterprises to achieve the prospective economic growth, enhancing their capability to create sustainable job opportunities and encouraging youths to have their own businesses.
He affirmed that the symposium will also focus on discussing the challenges facing the entrepreneurs while trying to develop their enterprises, activating the role of these enterprises in increasing the contribution of the private sector in the development process, enhancing the initiative-taking spirit in identifying feasible investment opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship culture, enhancing individual and group participation by joining the labour market and focusing more on adding value to economic activities.
The Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court said that the Royal Directives of His Majesty stipulate that the outcomes of the symposium will be part of the government action plan while implementing the current and future five-year development plans.
May Allah protect His Majesty the Sultan on all tours.
