Muscat: It was a great moment of celebration for Indian School Darsait as their quiz team added another glittering feather to the glory of the school by winning the second position in the Bahrain International Quiz 2012 held at the Indian School's Isa Town Campus on December 12 and 13, 2012.
The ISD team was represented by Ashwin Sathyan of Grade XI, Tony Saji of Grade X and Harikrishnan Lal Pillai of Grade VII. Salini Mohan, head of the Department of Social Science accompanied the team to this prestigious quiz contest. There were 18 teams from 11 schools across the Middle East and ISD stormed into the finals with an emphatic lead in the finals till the end of the 8th round. ISD team won the prize money of US$1000, the coveted school trophy and individual prizes.
The awards were given by Abraham John, Indian School chairman, at a function organized soon after the competition. Back in Muscat, the team was accorded an overwhelming welcome by the staff and the officiating principal, Dr Subhash B Nair, who congratulated the spirited winners on their great achievement. He also lauded the strenuous efforts taken by the Social Science Department in tutoring the team and taking the school to yet another pinnacle of success.
