Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended higher at 7345.76 points, up by 0.32 per cent. MSM Shariah Index closed at 1069.70 up by 0.05 per cent.
Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Majan Glass was the top gainer with 4.96 per cent gain, while Galfar Engineering, which lost the most, declined by 1.24 per cent.
Altogether 820 trades were executed in Wednesday's session generating a turnover of OMR4.66 million with over 10.22 million shares traded. Out of 53 traded stocks, 21 advanced, 7 declined and 25 were unchanged. Omani investors remained the net buyers to the tune of OMR311,000 worth of shares, while foreign investors sold stocks amounting to OMR202,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors at OMR108,000.
Financial Sector Index was up by 0.41 per cent at 8907.42 points. Ominvest, HSBC Bank Oman, Gulf Investment Services and National Finance increased by 1.42 per cent, 1.22 per cent, 0.80 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Al Madina Takaful and United Finance declined by 1.05 per cent, 0.83 per cent and 0.72 per cent respectively.
The Industrial Sector Index was marginally down by 0.04 per cent at 10132.84 points. Majan Glass, Construction Material Industries, Oman Fisheries and Al Hassan Engineering increased by 4.96 per cent, 1.96 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering and Oman Cables declined by 1.24 per cent and 0.19 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index was up by 0.45 per cent at 3758.71 points. Renaissance Serives, Al Suwadi Power, Nawras and Al Batinah Power increased by 3.51 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.62 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively. Jazeera Services and OIFC declined by 0.94 per cent and 0.79 per cent respectively.
