Muscat: Promising to take its guests on an unforgettable journey, Park Inn by Radisson will soon open a hotel and residence in Duqm, a relatively undiscovered treasure for nature lovers.

In the latest addition to Duqm's tourism portfolio, the fresh and energetic hotel brand is all set to open the doors to a unique facility, located right on the beach which features modern accommodation overlooking the Arabian Sea.

The new hotel and residence features 74 vibrant, contemporary chalets and apartments with modern amenities spread over a large area, which will offer guests a hassle-free experience in a perfect location to explore Duqm's beaches and coastline.

The hotel is located in the main area preferred by tourists and is a second-to-none accommodation in Duqm, noted Rabih Zein, cluster general manager at Park Inn by Radisson Muscat and Park Inn by Radisson Hotel and Residence Duqm.

Speaking to the Times of Oman, Zein said the hotel offers 50 one-bedroom chalets, nine two-bedroom villas, 13 one-bedroom and two two-bedroom apartments.

Construction work started three years ago and the soft opening will take place in September, he said, adding that the first paying guest will be received in October. "Today, our focus, our aim is to open as a four-star hotel. We are working on the starring rate," he said.

State-of-the-art facilities are included in the accommodation, he added. According to Park Inn by Radisson, the convenient hotel is an ideal place to accommodate individual guests, families or groups and is an excellent venue for arranging a conference or celebrating any special occasion.

The design and the character of all 74 accommodation units and the entire hotel will be inimitably Park Inn by Radisson, designed for the new generation traveller.

All the rooms are fully furnished and the facilities and services include free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel, 24-hour reception desk, laundry service, concierge service, complimentary car parking, business centre services, private balcony, kids' area, spa, tennis court, gym and outdoor pool.

Its meeting room features include free wireless high-speed Internet, individual climate control, free car parking, audio visual equipment, free access to business centre and natural daylight.

'Duqm hotel will strictly follow Omanisation policy'
The hotel location provides guests with easy access to a variety of nearby attractions such as Ras Madrakah Beach (0.8km), Duqm Ancient Ruins (9.9km) and Karmah Pass Cliffs (11km).

Zein also said that guests can enjoy dining at the Ocean Restaurant, RBG Grill and a pool lounge.

The Ocean Restaurant's menu features hearty international options accompanied with a wide variety of beverages, according to Park Inn by Radisson. Dining hours are extensive and convenient for guests of varying travel itineraries.  

Guests can also enjoy fresh ingredients, locally inspired specialities and classic dishes make-up at the RBG Grill Restaurant.

A selection of healthy items, ranging from charcoal-grilled cuts of meat and fish to crisp salads and signature dishes accompanied by a wide variety of selected beverages, is available.

And the pool lounge serves light snacks, juices, milkshakes and a large variety of selected beverages. The units can be rented for as many days as the guest wants and there is no limitation in this regard, Zein said.

There are huge projects underway in Duqm and this flexible long-stay option is a great advantage for visitors to these, he noted.

Zein said that the hotel will have 100 staff and will follow the policy of Omanisation as strictly as possible.

Next phase
According to him, more units will be added in the next phase of the project, which may start in two years' time.
