Buchholz has been barred from Dubai, where he was turned back at the airport on his way to a hotel appearance, a newspaper reported on August 17, 2014. Dubai: Rolf Buccholz, the world's most pierced man has been denied entry into the United Arab Emirates for a show at a Dubai hotel due to "security reasons", a local daily has reported.

Buccholz- with 453 piercings on his body, including multiple ones on his ears, nose and lips– was due to appear at Cirque Le Soir on Friday night.

He holds the Guinness World Record for maximum piercing on a human.

The German, however, has not been allowed into the Emirates, a local English daily said.

"Airport authorities stated they could not allow him to enter the country due to security reasons," it quoted a source as saying.

He was put back on a flight to Istanbul, another report said.

The club, famous for its peculiar shows including dwarfs and trapeze artists, is based in Dubai.

A spokesman for the hotel where Buchholz was scheduled to appear said its management had failed "despite all its attempts" to win permission for him to enter the emirate, the report added.

"The club did their best to try and get him through – even the Director of Government Relations and Director of Security from Fairmont went to try and resolve the situation," the source said.

As well as the piercings, Buccholz also has horns implanted on his forehead and magnets inserted into his fingertips.

He told the Englsih daily earlier this week that he has "never regretted or removed" a single piercing.

"They feel good," he said, adding that he was looking forward to his visit to the UAE.

"I've never been to Dubai. I'm excited. The only thing I know it that there's a lot of big buildings. I'm looking forward to seeing the place," he said.

Buchholz said on Twitter: "At the end I got an answer why I can't enter Dubai.

"The immigration thought I am Black Magic."
