Dhofar sites host 19,722 visitors

Salalah: A total of 19,722 people visited the Al Baleed and Samahram Archaeological Sites during July 2014, according to the statistics released by the Department of Frankincense Land Sites at His Majesty the Sultan's Advisor's Office for Cultural Affairs.

Park, museum
Al Baleed Archaeological Park and Frankincense Land Museum received 10,560 visitors while Samahram Archaeological Site received 9,162 visitors.

Al Baleed Archaeological Park, Samahram, Shasr area 'Wabar' and Wadi Dokah are registered sites on the World Heritage List under the name 'Land of Frankincense' sites.

Development plans
The Office of His Majesty the Sultan's Advisor for Cultural Affairs is developing many archaeological sites and providing them with utilities to serve the goals of cultural and archaeological tourism in the governorate of Dhofar.
