Muscat: The total number of Omani employees covered by the Post Service Pensions and Bonuses Law for the Omani Government employees stood at 163,924 by the end of June this year, the biannual statistical report issued by the Civil Service Employees Pension Fund (CSEPF) reveals.
These employees included 4,771 covered by the standardised system to extend insurance protection to employees of administrative and public bodies governed by provisions of the GCC civil service retirement system.
According to the report, the total number of retirees until the end of the first half of this year will be 40,999 with OMR13,820,460 due to them as monthly pension.
The total number of eligible heirs stood at 31,507 with OMR3,291,423 due to them as monthly pension.
The total number of living retirees and eligible heirs in Muscat governorate accounted for the largest number with 11,450 cases, or 19.8 per cent, whereas the least number were in Al Wusta Governorate — 440 cases or 0.8 per cent.
The report indicated 12,176 people were eligible for the total end of service gratuity, claiming OMR40,930,008.
