Saud, Cheema notch good wins at Omantel Ramadan Cricket Tourney

Muscat: Saud Travels and Cheema XI advanced to the next round in the Omantel Ramadan Cricket Tournament being played at Pakistan School Muscat.

On Tuesday night, Saud Travels beat United Enterprises LLC by 38 runs, while Cheema XI eased past Pakistan School Muscat A by 94 runs.

In the first match, playing first Saud Travels scored 120 for 5 in 8 overs. Jamshed emerged top scorer with 56 runs (8 sixes, 1 four), while making contributions were Ajaz (30: 16 balls) and Imtiaz (30).

Imtiaz also claimed two wickets as Saud Travels restricted United Enterprises LLC to 82 for 6 in 8 overs. Faisal Mujtaba scored 52 runs in 18 balls (7 sixes, 1 four). The other wicket takers were Zeeshan and Noor (two wickets each). Jamshed of Saud Travels was declared the man of the match.

In the match that followed, Cheema XI made 153 for 1 in 8 overs. Ifrat top scored with 73 (24 balls: 5 sixes, 8 fours) and supporting him were Irfan (35 off 13balls) and Ishaan (29 off 11balls).

In reply, Pakistan School Muscat A could make only 59 for 6 in 8overs. Abdul Qayuum (14) and Kamran Ali (14 not out) were the only  contributors. Bilal Khan claimed two wickets for 19 runs.

Top scorer Ifrat was adjudged the man of the match.
