Muscat: The bridge leading to the Stars Cinema crossing has been closed from midnight June 22 and traffic diverted to alternative routes, according to the directorate-general of traffic of the Royal Oman Police.
The directorate-general made the announcement about closing the bridge, which reaches the Star Cinema crossing, saying traffic would be diverted to an alternative route. The directorate-general has urged drivers to remain alert and follow the posted signs.
The Stars Cinema crossing is located between Darsait round-about and the Sheraton Hotel intersection and is on one of the busiest roads in the area, as it connects Ruwi, Wadi Kabir and Darsait.

The announcement about closing the bridge leading to the Stars Cinema crossing has come following yet another decision last week to shut down the Sheraton Hotel traffic signal in Ruwi due to the ongoing work on the flyover project in the area.
Citing Muscat Municipality officials, Times of Oman recently reported that work on the bridge near Star Cinema would continue for some time.
Almost 70 per cent of the work was completed in May and the bridge is expected to become operational by the end of this year, according to the officials.
Massive road infrastructure work is underway from Wadi Kabir and Qurum, particularly near Star Cinema, the Sheraton Hotel crossing and under the recently opened Wadi Kabir bridge.
Once completed, it is expected that the traffic flow in the area will be eased.
